DONT READ THIS ONLY FOR FUTURE ME

this is just a quick reminder post for ME. if youre not ME dont read this.

anyway the next time you open windows after 12 years and find out you've absolutely forgotten your password, cuss for 12 minutes, then when you reach the login screen press down shift and shut the computer, go to your ubuntu. then ive created a mount point for ntfs so you dont need to know this but mount your windows partition on /dev/sda4. this might change so just check with fdisk -l or whatever. then mount it with sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda4 /mnt/ntfs/. oh and before all this please download chntpw and ntfs-3g fuse. anyway after youve done all that and mounted check if it is mounted with mount. OK, then go to that directory,/mnt/ntfs, windows, system32, config. then sudo chntpw -u GeneralUser, then follow the instructions to delete the password, then come out of root, unmount and shutdown and boot to windows. and for gods sake write your passwords down.
